Description
Creamy Peanut Butter Pie is a chilled no bake dessert made with an Oreo cookie crust, fluffy peanut butter cream cheese filling, chocolate pudding, and Cool Whip. It is rich, creamy, and easy to prep ahead, making it a crowd friendly dessert for potlucks, holidays, birthdays, or any chocolate peanut butter craving.
Ingredients
- 1 package Oreo cookies, regular or double stuffed
- ¾ stick butter, melted
- 16 oz Cool Whip, thawed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 5.9 oz instant chocolate pudding
- 3 cups milk, or as indicated on pudding package
Instructions
- Crush the cookies: Set aside about 5 Oreo cookies for topping if desired, then crush the remaining cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or a sealed bag and rolling pin.
- Make the crust: Stir the Oreo crumbs with the melted butter until evenly moistened. Press firmly into the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch pan.
- Mix the peanut butter filling: Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth, then add 8 oz Cool Whip, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. Beat until creamy and fully combined.
- Spread the filling: Spoon the peanut butter mixture over the Oreo crust and spread it gently into an even layer.
- Prepare the pudding: Whisk the instant chocolate pudding with the milk according to the package directions until thickened. Spread the pudding evenly over the peanut butter layer.
- Top and chill: Spread the remaining 8 oz Cool Whip over the pudding layer. Sprinkle with reserved crushed Oreos if using, then refrigerate for at least 2hr before slicing.
Notes
Use fully softened cream cheese so the peanut butter layer turns out smooth. Press the Oreo crust firmly into the pan so it holds together when sliced. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze tightly wrapped for up to 3 months and thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
